Children's book author and illustrator, Vikki Gasko-Green has a school author visit presentation that is both entertaining and informative...and has a great message about bullying and friendship too!
Vikki's popular book, Dibs Doi, The Bully Boy features a mischeivous cat who likes being a center of attention and is a bit of bully to his other kitty friends. By the end of the story, Dibs Doi realizes that being a kinder kitty is a better way to get attention and be friends.
During her author speaker presention to elementary school audiences, Vikki tells the story of Dibs Doi using custom puppets and amazing ventriloquism. As the story unfolds, Dibs Doi talks with the kids about some of the important lessons he learned about being a good friend and not being a bully.
After the entertaining storytelling from Vikki and Dibs Doi, the audience gets a chance to brainstorm as a group to help create a unique main character for a new story. As the audience describes the character, Vikki illustrates is on a large pad for everyone to see. Once the character is complete, the audience gets to help write a hilarious short story for the new character. During this interactive section of the program, Vikki talks about being an author, how to come up with ideas for stories, and creating characters.
Following the debut reading of the funny story created by the audience, Vikki allows time for the kids to ask questions about being an author and illustrator.

Copies of Vikki's books can be made available for ordering at your school before Vikki's presentation. Vikki will also be happy to personally autograph books for students and teachers. Unlike many authors, however, there is no minimum requirement for books sold.
