(The "Green School Show")
Interactive school assemblies for Green School certification, Earth Day, and Environmental Awareness.
A musical celebration of environmental awareness that blends traditional Native American songs, stories about the environment, and your own school's specific Green School initative efforts into a memorable and fun perofrmance.
The show starts with some exploration of Native American music and culture, as Native Americans live very close the natural world. This segment includes opportunites for for student volunteers to use some authentic Native American shakers to assist in some songs and telling of a traditional story about how all things are connected in the environmental world.
The performer then ties the Native American views on the environment into what the students are putting in the practice as part of their Green School initatives. Students get a chance to sing, dance, and share their own ideas for caring for the environment. The audience also learns two interactive songs, "The Earth is Our Mother", and the "Garden Song".
The program wraps up with a rockin' finale featuring ther performer on the electric guitar, and 20 student volunteers making up their own "Green School Band".
